Ostrów Wielkopolski is a county town in southern Greater Poland, situated on national road DK11 and an important railway junction. It has around 70,000 inhabitants, making it one of the larger centres in the region — second after Kalisz in the southern part of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

The town's history dates back to the 15th century — the first records of Ostrów come from 1404. Town rights were granted in 1714. The town flourished in the 19th century thanks to the development of the railway and industry. Today Ostrów Wielkopolski is an important industrial centre (automotive, processing) and the seat of the Diocese of Kalisz.

The town is home to companies such as Mahle, Wabco and Delphi, which attracts many posted workers from all over Poland and Europe. This creates strong demand for comfortable long-term rental apartments — an alternative to hotels and guest rooms.
